Going on a Tanzania safari from south africa has been one of the best experiences of my life. If I already thought that Kenya and Tanzania would be difficult to overcome, it was stepping on South Africa and realizing that I still have a lot of world to discover.
I want to explain everything you need to know to make your trip to South Africa a success and that you can enjoy as much as I did.
In addition, I will also tell you about the different parks where you can do safaris in the country and the different accommodation options, as well as the prices of the Tanzania safari from south africa so you can adjust your budget.
I tell you, I not only could see the Big Five or Big Five , who already saw on my safari to Kenya , but also could see other animals that live only here as adorable African Penguins or zebras mountains Cape .

To start, I am going to tell you about the Kruger Park , the best known and also the most recommended. Then I will give you some tips for the trip and, finally, I will mention other reservations that are also worth it if you have time or if you repeat.
Even so, I repeat, if it is your first time in Tanzania safari from south africa I would go directly to the Kruger Park , which is the largest and most interesting of all the National Parks and Reserves in the country.
If you have already repeated, try a luxury safari in South Africa , it will be just for you and with the best qualities!
Kruger Park
The Kruger Park is the most important in Tanzania safari from south africa and one of the most famous in the world. Located west of the border with Mozambique and south of Z imbabue , it has an area of almost two million hectares. Those are 350 kilometers from north to south, almost to the border with Swaziland , and 60 kilometers from east to west.
Furthermore, if we take into account that a transnational park has been created that includes the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe and the Limpompo National Park in Mozambique called the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park , its extension is much greater.
In this park you can see the big five (African elephant, black and white rhinos, buffalo, lion and leopard), in addition to many other animals.
In fact, one of the things that surprised me the most when I was there is the large number of elephants that there are, which is causing them a problem because there are already more than the park can handle and they are sterilizing them.
It is also the corner of the world with the most rhinos . Specifically, there are 5,000 white rhinos and 350 black rhinos, representing 80% of the world's population of this endangered species.
With these numbers, as with the 1,000 leopards and 2,000 lions as well as 25,000 buffalo, we are facing one of the parks where it is easier to see these animals.
Anyway, I also want to say that nobody ever guarantees you when you go on excursions that you will see them. In the end we are talking about a very large area where these animals live in freedom , so not all of them are always visible.
I have been lucky and I have been able to see them whenever I have gone, although I also have to say that I have gone in the dry season , when they are easier to see.
The reason was explained to me by the guide and it made all the sense in the world: animals tend to go to water sources, so by getting closer to them you have more animals to enjoy.

Staying in the Kruger Park
Another aspect of the Kruger Park that I don't want to forget is the accommodations, which are really amazing. Taking into account that we are in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature, there are a series of fantastic lodges and hotels with all the comforts but without losing that magic of the environment in which it is located.
I usually recommend the Moditlo River Lodge . I stayed there and I really loved everything. The pool, the rooms and also the excursions we took from the hotel.
Anyway, I was able to visit other hotels and I also really liked them. In the end it all depends on the budget that we have but in general there are very good quality hotels at an excellent price.
On my trip to Tanzania safari from south africa I combined my visit to the Kruger Park with Victoria Falls , already in the north of Zimbabwe , and it was amazing. I totally recommend it.
Since I went, I always add it to my programs as an extension of this trip, combining it or not with a few days on the beach in Mauritius or Mozambique .
